He pointed out that 207 Russian films were released in theaters in 2023, while 103 films were released in the first half of 2024. He also told us when the most Russian films will be released.
“If we take into account the increase in the volume of state support from 2022 and the duration of the film production cycle, we will reach the peak of film releases in 2026. But now we see that the film distribution market in the Russian Federation has successfully adapted to the sanctions conditions, and this year’s trends allow us to talk about the rapid growth of this market,” he said.
Lyubimova attributed the growth of the film distribution market to the interest in patriotic films, including those about a special military operation,” she added.
