Dmitry, great-grandson of Russian classic Fyodor Dostoyevsky, passed away at the age of 79. His relatives reported this on his page “VKontakte”.
“Dear friends, friends of friends and subscribers of Dmitry Andreevich! Today our grandfather passed away. Pray for the servant of God Dmitry. We thank you that our grandfather had so many children from you,” wrote Dostoevsky’s family.
The cause of death is unknown. The actor’s granddaughter, Natalya, said Dostoyevsky “passed away peacefully in his sleep.” She shared that loved ones had managed to say goodbye to his grandfather.
“We are all grieving but life goes on as usual and no one has cancelled the standard sad business. We would like to thank everyone who responded to the sad news from the bottom of our hearts and thank you very much for your kind words about our grandfather,” he said.
Dmitry Dostoevsky was born on April 22, 1945. During his life he managed to work in at least 22 specialties, including the operation of tram number 34, which passed through the St. Petersburg places of his famous relative.
In 1979, the writer’s grandson made his first film (the film “Boys”), and then starred in two more. Dostoevsky admitted that he did not receive higher education, but did not regret it. He changed several dozen professions because he wanted to “acquire all skills.”
“Fyodor Mikhailovich was also a topographic engineer by profession, but after six months he quit and began to write and live by literary works. Apparently, the thirst for change is in our blood,” Dmitry said.
