Activists offer Russian citizenship to Pink Floyd founder 19:44

Social activists from the Russian Veterans movement approached British Pink Floyd band founder Roger Waters with an offer to obtain Russian citizenship. This was reported by “Paragraph”.

They emailed the musician a letter supporting his “honest and courageous position.” The activists also reassured Waters that obtaining a Russian passport would be “supported by millions of people not only in Russia but around the world.”

“Your words about the great sacrifice made by our people in World War II deeply touched each and every one of us,” the social activists emphasized.

September 3rd reportedWaters thanked Russia for defeating the Nazis, and expressed the view that the world had not thanked Russia enough for winning World War II at the cost of 22 million lives.

Before that, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev invited Roger Waters will perform a concert for participants of the special military operation in Ukraine.

“I invite him to perform in front of participants of a special military operation. I am sure that the actors will appreciate this performance very much,” Medvedev said.
