For the first time, a large-scale festival “Theater Boulevard” will be held on the central boulevards of Moscow, the press service reported to socialbites.ca.
Over 100 productions with over 1,000 actors will be staged at 7 venues for 28 days. Troupes of the country’s legendary theaters will perform on Moscow boulevards: Sovremennik, Lenkom Mark Zakharov, Pyotr Fomenko Workshop, Malaya Bronnaya Theater and others. The program also includes theater performances, improvisations, circus shows and theater experiments. All sites will be divided by subject and genre.
“We have an important goal: to show Muscovites that culture and cultural events today are something that everyone can touch. It is a bold experiment for us to get to know theaters, performances, directors and artists on the streets of the city, in an open space, where the streets become a stage and people are participants in the action,” said Moscow Government Minister Alexey Fursin.
The festival grounds will be open every day: Monday to Friday from 17:00 to 20:00, Saturday and Sunday from 17:00 to 21:00. On weekdays, spectators will be able to attend open rehearsals, master classes and creative labs, and on weekends there will be performances on stage.
