Actor Ian McKellen, star of the “Lord of the Rings” and “X-Men” films, recently opened up about the injuries he sustained in a fall from the stage. He spoke about his health on the X social network (formerly Twitter).

“Two weeks after the stage accident, I would like to reassure my many well-wishers that the injuries (wrist and neck) are healing. Doctors promise full recovery, but only if I stay away from work for the next few weeks,” he admitted.

McKellen was injured in the performance of William Shakespeare’s play “Henry IV”, but was replaced by understudy David Semark. The group will tour without McKellen.

“Every actor will say it’s a bit of a shame to miss a performance, even if it’s not their fault. None of us want to disappoint the public,” he admitted.

85-year-old artist fallen from the stage during a performance at the Noël Coward Theatre in London on June 17. He tripped over a pile of broken stones and weapons set up as decorations for a battle scene.

Previously Otar Kushanashvili made Statement from the hospital: “I am the only genius in the country.”
