Hearing in Berkovich and Petriychuk case closed 12:46

The Military Court of the Second Western District closed the hearing in the case of director Evgenia Berkovich and playwright Svetlana Petriychuk. In this respect Wrote Svetlana Petriychuk’s lawyer Sergei Badamshin on the Telegram channel “VLager”.

“As of this hearing, hearings are held in closed court,” Badamshin said.

At the beginning of May 2023, Berkovich and Petriychuk became defendants in a criminal case for “legitimizing terrorism”. The reason for this was that they created a performance based on the play “Finist Yasnyi Sokol”. The production tells the story of women who are contacted by followers of radical Islam through social networks. Law enforcement authorities determined that the work contained signs of propaganda and legitimation of terrorism.
