The international exhibition and forum “Russia” celebrates the 225th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin, the organizers of the event said.
Part of the festive program was a huge poetic flash mob, in which more than 500 guests of the exhibition read an excerpt from the poem “Ruslan and Lyudmila” – “There is a green oak tree near Lukomorye…”.
The event took place in “Regions of Russia”.
Deputy General Director of the exhibition Anastasia Zvyagina noted that adults and children from all regions of the country, as well as foreigners, participated in the special flash mob for the poet’s birthday.
He noted that foreign guests also attended the international festival of theater schools of BRICS+ countries.
“Pushkin is the creator of our modern Russian language. His works are incorruptible and the whole world knows them, they unite our country and we are proud of them,” said Zvyagina.
The honoring of the poet continued with a colorful theatrical procession: “Oh yes, Pushkin! Well done!” More than a thousand people attended the event. Fans of Pushkin’s works walked around the halls with regional exhibitions in a column, accompanied by a brass band, and completed the festive procession at the exit of the pavilion.
The BRICS+ International Youth Theater Festival will take place at the exhibition between 1-8 June.
Representatives of India, China, South Africa, Russia, Iran, United Arab Emirates and Belarus are attending the meeting.
“There is an important idea in Pushkin’s work: to accept what you have. “Whatever language you speak, it resonates in the soul,” said festival attendee and Cape Town student Asanda Mngadi.
