In May 2025, on the anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, a new film adaptation of Boris Vasiliev’s story “Not in the Lists” will be presented. This was reported by RIA News citing the authors of the project.
“This is a lieutenant’s prose about a man who just came into the world and became the god of war in 300 days. This is the unknown soldier to whom monuments are erected all over the country,” says actor Vladimir Mashkov, who played one of the main roles.
Mashkov admitted that he had long dreamed of shooting a film with actors and students of Oleg Tabakov’s theater school during his vacation.
“Such work needs to be done on the big screen so that we can know where we are coming from. Especially for the younger generation,” he is sure.
The film also stars Vladislav Miller, Sevastyan Smyshnikov, Sergei Ugryumov, Yana Sexte. Filming will take place in Brest in August 2024.
According to the plot of the story, nineteen-year-old lieutenant Nikolai Pluzhnikov arrives at the duty station in the Brest Fortress late in the evening of June 21, 1941 and is not included in the unit’s lists. In the morning the lieutenant takes command of the garrison and begins the first battle with the Nazis. In 1995, the film adaptation of Andrei Malyukov’s book “I am a Russian Soldier” was released.
