Director Tina Barkalaya will start shooting the Russian-Indian project “Pearls” at the end of 2024. Ekaterina Filippova, the producer of the film, announced this in her interview. TASS.

“This is a modern family saga, connected to current issues such as child care, adoption, adoption. The story is unique in the absence of a standardized approach to the topic in terms of the intense social vector. This offers a completely different perspective on a long-known problem,” Filippova noted.

The producer said that the film will show that sometimes a good orphanage is better than a bad family. He stated that the shooting would take place in November-December, that it would already snow in Russia and that the rainy season would end in India. The main events of the film take place in Khanty-Mansiysk, so the main work on the film will take place in this Russian city. But the creators also plan to shoot in Moscow and India and involve foreign actors in the project.

The film will be released in Russian cinemas, but as Filippova stated, it may also be released in India.
