“They shot from above and below, there was nowhere to run, they didn’t say anything, they didn’t explain where to go, how to save themselves, how to protect themselves. “We just lay on the ground and waited,” he recalls.
According to the journalist, she and her mother then looked for shelter and eventually hid behind flower pots.
“We stayed there for a few minutes, the shooting continued, so it never stopped. “Then we realized people were kind of starting to fall, so we ran with everyone else,” he explained.
The journalist explained that during the evacuation, people helped others and monitored security. The women were then able to get out to the parking lot.
