Actor, TV presenter and broadcaster Alexei Mitrofanov died in Bulgaria at the age of 56. His friends report this on social networks.

The TV presenter was born in Moscow into a family of design engineers. He graduated from the Moscow Aviation Institute. Mitrofanov worked at the Moscow Historical Museum and in the media.
Mitrofanov wrote fifteen books in the “Walks in Old Moscow” series, as well as books about Kaliningrad, Yaroslavl, Tambov, Vladimir, Kaluga, Smolensk and the biography of Vladimir Gilyarovsky. He is the author of a television program about Gilyarovsky, in which he also played the role.
