Brian Wilson, co-founder, bass guitarist, vocalist and keyboardist of the American band The Beach Boys, was diagnosed with dementia. In this respect reports TMZ cites the musician’s family.
After the death of Wilson’s wife, Melinda, in January 2024, his family asked the court to declare the musician legally incapacitated. Two family members were requested to be appointed as guardians.
Relatives say Brian Wilson’s cognitive functions were severely affected and he needed constant care, clothing and feeding.
Relatives also added that Wilson would continue to live at home with her children and be creative if she wanted to.
The Beach Boys were founded in 1961 by three Wilson brothers: 19-year-old Brian, 14-year-old Carl and 16-year-old Dennis, their 20-year-old cousin Mike Love, and Brian’s high school friend Alan. Jardine, 20. The band released its last album in 2012.
