Famous Pskov photographer Dmitry Markov died at the age of 42. This was reported by Pskov Province, citing friends of the photographer.

The publication states that the causes of Markov’s death are still unknown.

“Dmitry was subjected to pressure from readers on social networks for his attitude towards his fellow conscripts,” the publication says.

Dmitry Markov is a photographer, photojournalist and volunteer. He was born in 1982 in Pushkino, near Moscow. Markov is primarily known for his photographs of Russian provinces.

Markov became interested in volunteering since 2005. As a result, he moved from the Moscow region to Porkhov, Pskov region, where he worked with local public organizations.

Markov became famous for his “Russian province” type photos from his phone camera, which he published on social networks.

In 2021, Markov photographed a representative of law enforcement agencies in the background of a portrait of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, which was later sold at auction for 2 million rubles.
