Director Andrei Konchalovsky admitted that he could not watch his new movie “The Master and Margarita”. His words are quoted “Life”.
“Honestly, I can’t watch The Master and Margarita anymore.” “I prefer reading novels,” the director admitted.
According to the artist, many directors tried to film Bulgakov’s novel, but their interpretations often did not coincide with the original work. He added that he had little interest in other directors’ opinions on the iconic text.
Konchalovsky also answered why the film “The Master and Margarita” was criticized because of the position of the film’s director in the SVO. He said the following sentence: “This is how people are created.” The director added that people often reflect their personal feelings towards the author of the picture on his actions.
The other day activist Vitaly Borodin sent An appeal in which he asked the Armed Forces of Ukraine to check the director of the film “The Master and Margarita” for funding. The reason for the objection was Lokshin’s social media posts criticizing SVO.
Borodin noted that “The Master and Margarita”, which was released in January, was shot with funds provided by the state budget, and approximately 800 million rubles were spent on the film. Lokshin also published posts supporting Alexei Navalny and donated funds to Ukrainian documentarian Mila Zhluktenko.
