The consular department of the Embassy of Russia in Thailand clarified the situation with the musicians of the Bi-2 group detained in Thailand. Russian consulate prices TASS.

According to the ministry, five Russians among the Bi-2 participants are in the temporary detention center of the Royal Immigration Service in Bangkok.

“We received notification from the Thai immigration authorities that these Russian citizens are in the temporary detention center of the Thai Police Immigration Service,” the ministry said.

The statement states that the band’s drummer Boris Livshits, flautist and keyboardist Yan Nikolenko, guitarist Andrei Zvonkov, bassist Maxim Andryushchenko and arranger Gleb Kolyadin were detained for violating the kingdom’s labor legislation.

They all have Russian citizenship and were taken to the Temporary Detention Center from Phuket on January 29. Russian diplomats received a request from Thai authorities to check whether the detainees have citizenship and possible crimes committed by them.

Members of the Bi-2 group were detained on the Thai island of Phuket for holding a concert without a work permit. Each musician was fined and detained for later deportation to their country of citizenship.

Later, the Investigative Committee and the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office asked Filing a lawsuit against Bi-2 participants with Russian passports. The Party of Veterans of Russia sent letters to the Investigative Committee and the Prosecutor General’s Office with a request to initiate criminal proceedings against members of the Bi-2 group, said the founder and chairman of the party, Ildar Rezyapov. He cited the musicians’ support for the Ukrainian Armed Forces as the reason.

The main members of Bi-2, Yegor Bortnik (recognized in the Russian Federation as a foreign agent) and Alexander Uman – Leva and Shura – are not citizens of the Russian Federation. They have Israeli citizenship.
