Sberbank and the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts will work together to digitize and preserve the world’s cultural heritage for future generations. There is also a focus on expanding the use of digital technologies in the work of cultural institutions. In addition to the agreement, a road map for the implementation of specific areas of cooperation will also be developed.

“This is where art and technology come together. And in the modern world one cannot exist without the other,” said Sberbank President German Gref.

The company president stated that every technology requires inspiration and emphasized that this can be found in culture and art.

“Art needs to reach as many people as possible, especially young people. For this we need the most modern technologies. We hope to make art, wonderful collections and the ability of Pushkin Museum specialists to collect the most unique exhibits accessible to the maximum number of people in our country,” added German Gref.

According to Elizaveta Likhacheva, director of the Pushkin Museum, modern technologies provide incredible opportunities for any museum.

He explained that we are talking about the digitalization of the collection, the use of huge databases, the emergence of non-existent methods and tools for scientific work and educational projects.

“As AI technologies advance, more new opportunities are emerging right here and now. One of the most important goals of our work is the digitalization of the collection. This is actually a huge task that no museum in the world can handle. And with the help of Sber, we hope to fully digitize the collection,” said Likhacheva.
