Director Oliver Stone apologized to actor Ryan Gosling for criticizing Greta Gerwig’s role in the Barbie movie. He published the relevant post on social network X (formerly Twitter).
According to Stone, he watched the movie in which Gosling played the Ken doll and found the original and the themes of the movie remarkable.
“I found that the writers came up with an unexpected approach. “I apologize for my ignorant words,” he wrote.
He also praised Barbie’s director, Greta Gerwig, for her Lady Bird movie, which she described as one of her favorites of 2017.
Stone criticized Barbie in an interview with City AM in June 2023, ahead of the film’s release. In a conversation with a journalist, he stated that Gosling “does this nonsense for money” and accused the actor of “infantilizing Hollywood”.
