Roskomnadzor announced the fines to be imposed on films and TV series containing LGBT*

Since December 2022, Roskomnadzor (RKN) has drawn up 52 administrative protocols against online cinemas for showing minors by LGBT individuals (the LGBT International Social Movement is considered extremist and is banned in the Russian Federation) and two protocols against their propaganda. This was reported by RBCWith reference to the press service of the ministry.

According to his information, the amount of fines imposed on violators exceeded 30.5 million rubles.

Roskomnadzor also prepared administrative protocols against 34 TV channels broadcasting performances of LGBT children and six channels promoting non-traditional sexual relations on live broadcast. Total fines for these violations reached approximately 20 million rubles.

The total amount of fines imposed for such violations exceeded 50 million rubles.

The law prohibiting LGBT propaganda among Russian citizens of all ages came into force on December 5, 2022.

On November 30, 2023, the Supreme Court of Russia recognized the “International LGBT Movement” as extremist (recognized as extremist and banned in Russia) and prohibited activities in the country.
