Actor Willem Dafoe received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this Monday. He is the first player to receive this decoration in 2024.
The famous actor, accompanied by Patricia Arquette, Pedro Pascal and his director wife Giada Colagrande, attended the memorial ceremony just a day after receiving applause at the Golden Globes, which recognized the film as the best comedy or musical film. She was a part of it too.
When the star appeared, Dafoe’s first words were “I can’t stop smiling, I look like an idiot but it’s great.” “It’s incredible to be part of this community of artists and entertainers, (…) hopefully what we do can somehow make the world a little bit better,” he added.
During the ceremony, Pedro Pascal recalled a memory from his childhood, years before he met the actor during the recording of the movie ‘The Great Wall’ (2016). “I watched ‘Platoon’ with my father at the cinema and (Willem) made me cry so much that my father sent me to the bathroom. I was about 10 years old and I already wanted to be an actor,” Pascal said. “He redefined the concept of rebellion and originality by turning it into generosity, honesty, kindness and fun. Willem is fun and an incredible friend,” he said.
