Russian director Elena Demidova died at the age of 59. This was reported by Demidova’s colleague Marina Razbezhkina on her page on the social network Facebook (the owner of the Meta company is known as an extremist in Russia and is banned).
Demidova became one of the first graduates of the Marina Razbezhkina and Mikhail Ugarov Documentary Film and Theater School.
During her 59 years of life, Demidova trained as an engineer, historian and director. In 2006, she graduated from the film school with her second specialization. After that, she became a member of the Cinematographers Guild, as well as the Film Directors Guild of the Russian Federation and the Non-Fiction Films Union.
His portfolio included cooperation with the M. Gorky Film Studio, the Kultura TV channel and the Finnish YLE TV channel. She chaired a documentary film workshop for young directors at the Women, Gorky Children and Youth Film Studio and a workshop for young documentarians at the Kinoproba film festival.
The director directed the films “Alice in Wonderland”, “Touch of the Wind” and “Sasha, Lena and the Iron Dragon”.
