Singer Britney Spears has denied reports that she is working on a new album. The artist announced this on Instagram (its owner, Meta, is known as an extremist and is banned in Russia).
“I want you to know that most of the news is garbage!! They say I approached random people to record a new album… I will never come back to the music industry!” — the artist explained.
Spears noted in her post that she wrote the new songs only “for fun or on commission.” She was angered by media rumors about her work and said they were imaginary.
On December 30, The Sun, citing its own source, reported that Spears’ first album in 8 years could be released as soon as next year. An insider later revealed that the songs on the album would be written by British singer and songwriter Charli XCX, who has worked with Selena Gomez, Gwen Stefani and Camila Cabello. According to the source, the singers planned to create super hits that would bring Spears back to the stage.
