Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy’s son Louis said that Ridley Scott’s “Napoleon” movie was a failure. His words are quoted Fox News.
“This is an absolute disaster. I begged for a great biography of Napoleon, a historical epic of his life over many decades. I thought this subject matter was suitable for a movie, but it turned out to be a bad movie,” Sarkozy Jr. said.
The publication notes that Louis recently wrote a book about Napoleon that explores the political leader’s love of the written word. He is also a “passionate lover” of the command’s history. Sarkozy noted that director Ridley Scott failed to convey “neither a person nor a period” in the film. He called the movie starring Joaquin Phoenix a failure.
“If I weren’t such a Napoleon fan and an avid reader of the period, this would just be a bad movie. But because I have high expectations… I’m also a big fan of Ridley Scott and Joaquin Phoenix… It’s a disaster,” Sarkozy said.
