Nicolas Cage, one of Hollywood’s most prolific actors, is considering retirement. The artist, who will soon turn 60, said: Vanity FairHe said he was almost done acting in movies.
“I probably have three or four more movies left in me,” Cage said in a conversation with reporters.
“I feel like I said what I had to say in the movie. “I think I did everything possible… I want to say goodbye on a high note,” commented the famous artist about the end of his career.
Cage added that his father died at the age of 75 and, according to his own calculations, he only had 15 years left. “What would I like to do in these 15 years that I spend using my father as a model?” – asked the father of three children. “It’s become very clear to me that I want to spend time with my family… I’m starting to solidify that plan.”
However, Cage said he is open to trying other forms of acting, such as television drama, which he has never done before.
Following his starring role in the 1983 film Valley Girl, Cage appeared in more than 100 feature films and subsequently won the Oscar for Best Actor for the 1996 film Leaving Las Vegas. It won six awards in 2023 alone (including the movie The Retirement Plan). His current comedy, Dream Script, has earned the actor some of the best rave reviews of his career.
Cage’s “three more movies out of four” promise doesn’t appear to include the four movies he has in development listed on IMDB. Last month, Cage said he plans to slow down on filmmaking after he turns 60.
