The 22-meter “Black Mountain” volcano will be burned on Maslenitsa in the Nikola-Lenivets art park. Representatives of the event informed socialbites.ca about this.

As representatives of Nikola-Lenivets noted, the eruption of the Black Mountain will be a symbol of the transition from winter to spring and “a one-day fiery performance that is born, lives and disintegrates before your eyes.” The author of the idea of the art object was Konstantin Fominov. The architect of the volcano was Ekaterina Polyakova. The event will take place on March 16.

“Black Mountain” will be installed by a team of 20 people over three months. The design is based on straw, birch branches, spruce poles and tree tops – only waste and unnecessary materials will be used. Burning a work of art will mimic a real volcanic eruption. Before the event starts, it will be possible to climb to the top of the “volcano” via an internal staircase that goes around an improvised “chimney”.

A fair is also planned for Maslenitsa in Nikola-Lenivets. All guests will be able to participate in challenges to win “blincoins” and exchange them for hot pancakes. Before the cremation, there will be a theatrical performance, details of which will be announced later.

Previously It has been announced who will present ‘Blue Light’ in 2024.
