Scarlett Johansson is suing an artificial intelligence application that used her name and image in an ad without her permission. This was reported by Variation.

In a 22-second ad posted on social network

Representatives of the 38-year-old actress confirmed to the press that the necessary legal proceedings have been initiated. “We don’t take these things lightly. The actress’ attorney, Kevin Yorn, told Variety in a statement, “We will pursue all legal remedies, as is our normal course of action under the circumstances.” The ad was subsequently removed.

The video was shot from the set of the Marvel movie Black Widow. Artificial intelligence Scarlett Johansson says: “It’s not just about avatars. You can also create images with text and even videos with artificial intelligence. I think you shouldn’t miss this.”

The fine print at the bottom of the ad reads: “Images created by Lisa AI. They have nothing to do with this person.” It is stated that many applications belonging to Lisa AI remain on the App Store and Google Play.

Johansson isn’t the only one publicly speaking out against the use of her name and images for artificial intelligence. Last month, Tom Hanks used Instagram to warn fans about a dentistry commercial that used an AI-generated image of himself in the promotional video (Meta’s owner is considered an extremist company in Russia and has been banned).
