The Moscow City Court postponed the consideration of objections to the extension of the detention of director Evgenia Berkovich and playwright Svetlana Petriychuk in the case of legitimization of terrorism. This was reported by RIA News.
The judge justified his decision to postpone the hearing to October 25 by the fact that the court received additions to the objection of lawyer Sergei Gruzdev, who could not attend the hearing on October 23. Berkovich and Petriychuk, as well as other lawyers, need to become familiar with them.
In early September, the Khamovnichesky District Court extended the detention of Berkovich and Petriychuk until November 4. The extension was justified by the impossibility of completing the investigation due to pre-determined examinations (psychological-psychiatric and psychological-linguistic automatic regulation). The court also concluded that the defendants could flee, continue their criminal activities, or obstruct the trial.
