On the morning of October 17, Ukrainian media wrote about his death, citing the press service of the 54-year-old artist. According to them, he died at 05.40 in a German clinic.

KVN, Zelensky and TV series

Sivokho was born in Donetsk in 1969. While studying in the 90s, he started playing in KVN – Donetsk Polytechnic Institute (DPI), played in the “Dream Team”, the CIS National Team and the 20th Century National Team.

Later he met Vladimir Zelensky. Later, the future Ukrainian leader became one of the founders of the Kvartal-95 studio and worked as the creative producer of Sivokho.

In the 90s and early 2000s, Sivokho took part in various television programs on Ukrainian and Russian television, after which they began to recognize him. The artist also appeared in “My Fair Nanny”, in which she played the role of a tax inspector who checks the accuracy of Vicky’s income data, and in the sitcom “Happy Together”, in which she played Grandma Glafira, the host of a children’s program. Since 2015, he has been a jury member of League of Laughter, the Ukrainian alternative to KVN, created by Kvartal-95.

Sivokho and Donbass

Sivokho openly supported Zelensky’s presidential candidacy in 2019, claiming that he had known him for a quarter of a century. In the same year, he wanted to become a member of parliament and participated in the Rada elections from the Servant of the People party in a majoritarian constituency in the Donetsk region, but did not receive the required number of votes.

“And it’s probably a good thing I didn’t get into Rada. But during the elections I saw that I could somehow influence the situation. It was revealed that during this short period of election preparations, people were given water in some places and miners were paid in some places.

I felt like I could really do something. “And I saw that it was possible to move towards the peace that we all dream of,” Sivokho later said in a conversation with Strana.ua.

Sivokho became an advisor to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine in the fall of 2019. He was interested in the issues of reintegration and restoration of Donbass.

In March 2020, Sivokho presented his project to resolve the conflict in Donbass. A man came to the presentation and introduced himself as Sergei Tamarin, a veteran of the Azov battalion (an organization banned in Russia). He accused Sivokho of treason and separatism. They tried to finish the event ahead of schedule, but Tamarin and others present surrounded the artist, began insulting and pushing him, after which he fell.

The Servant of the People group in the Verkhovna Rada proposed that Sivokho be removed from his post; Other MPs also supported this initiative.

Before the start of SVO, in an interview “Kommersant” Sivokho said he still keeps in touch with Zelensky, but not as often as he would like. He also said that he did not come to Donetsk for security reasons:

“I haven’t been there since June 6, 2014. I want to go there not only for business, but as a person, I just love this city. No matter how many times I was called to Kiev, Moscow, the USA, Germany to work, I always lived there.

My base was in Donetsk. There is a house there; I went, worked for a bit, came back. “I feel comfortable there, it is the greatest city for me.”

According to the artist, he continued to work at the Kvartal-95 studio because “you have to make money, which tends to run out.”

In his interview with Strana.ua in 2020, Sivokho said that he came to Donbass as part of the work of the National Reconciliation Platform.
