American poet Louise Gluck, who won the 2020 Nobel Prize in Literature, died at the age of 80. This was reported by Associated press (AP).

According to the agency, the poet’s death was confirmed by Jonathan Galassi, editor of Farrar, Straus & Giroux.

Gluck received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2020 for “his unfailing poetic voice, which with its harsh beauty transforms individual existence into universal existence.”

Glück was born in New York in 1942 to a family of Russian and Hungarian descent.
