— Has your approach to filming “Real Boys” changed over the years? Are you tired of these, can you keep your excitement?
“Neither the excitement nor the approach has changed. The series “Real Boys” became a start in a professional career and a great gift for our entire team. For all of us, former KVN players without acting experience, the “Real Boys” project was a great success. As they say, we woke up one day famous. Therefore, for 13 years, I was aware that “Real Boys” was the main project of my life. Thanks to him, I am very happy to receive many offers to take part in a wide variety of projects and I can choose the one I like.
— How will Kolyan appear in the farewell season, will anything change in him?
“The good thing about our Kolyan does not change. There are many such Kolyans in our society. Our whole great Russian people rest on such Kolyany, on his faith, hope and love. We have some sort of report and analysis of dramaturgy in every episode. And Nikolai, according to the problems posed at the beginning of the chapters, says at the end: “You know what I understand today…” And he explains some complex things in simple language. He speaks everyday wisdom that everyone can understand. This becomes even clearer after you’ve made all these mistakes, tried every possible way to resolve the situation, and come back to square one and say, “Damn, that’s it.” It’s funny, it’s silly, it’s cute, but everyone gets it. And out comes the lightness that comes from so many complex things. And this is the ability of Anton Zaitsev (co-founder of Good Story Media and general producer of the series “Real Boys” – “socialbites.ca”) to make complex things look very easy.
— If you evaluate the humor of the new season, how many points would you give?
“As Yuliy Gusman once said: “You have set such a bar for humor that now you will have to live up to it.” These words stuck in my mind during the KVN days. So you either leave or you stay, but do the same or better. That’s why every season of Real Boys I was afraid – what will happen? When I asked Sasha Sineguzov (co-writer and creative producer of the series “Real Boys” – “socialbites.ca”) and Anton Zaitsev about this, I received the following answer: “It will be very funny.” There are guys who write humor professionally – these are the author’s team of “Real Boys”, former KVN writers.
— According to the plot, the characters of the series move to the village. How did that happen?
— Kolyan’s grandmother died and left him a house in the village. And our character instantly gets his head blown off, as happens to every person in the modern world. He walks around like a landowner: “I have land, people, stables here.” Then he sits down and realizes that everything is ruined, there is nothing, no one needs anything. He is the owner, but it is unknown how he can live with this “wealth” and “gold”. During our farewell season, Kolyan tries to understand that it depends on him how people live on his small land in the village of Naumovka.
— Did you try anything new while shooting the series in the countryside? What do you remember most?
— Every season, even every episode, is a big challenge for me. Because every time I worry and worry about the outcome. I want to give my 100 percent. And this season is no exception. The most memorable moment was the tractor ride. I even managed to master this new car and get a feel for the new dimensions.
– Do you like it?
– Too much. I also love big cars and powerful engines. It would make me happy to master both the bulldozer and the combine harvester professionally. Because even in modern life this can always come in handy.
— How do you feel when you realize that “Real Boys” is everything? After all, this project and the people interested in it have been a part of your life for 13 years…
– I feel sad. Not sadness, not despair, but a pleasant, gentle sadness. I experienced a similar feeling when I graduated from school, university and separated from my classmates and classmates. This does not mean that I no longer see or communicate with anyone after graduation. No, they remain close friends. So we will not be separated here, we will still be a strong “real” family. This project will remain in our hearts forever. There are the same ordinary children in the hearts of millions of viewers. We had a nice time.
— Have you ever had disagreements with your colleagues on the show? How did you manage to get rid of them?
— I get very emotional when communicating with my family and friends. But he is always very polite and courteous towards strangers or unfamiliar people. Of course, there were also minor conflicts on the site. Quite trivially, children and I have always found a common language. In my opinion, every team should have conversations where everyone can share their thoughts.
— Do you have any big project plans to tackle after “Real Boys”?
— There are many offers and soon you will see everything with your own eyes.
— A new season of “Daddy’s Daughters” recently aired, while a new “Happy Together” (“Bukins”) is being filmed — the show coming back to life years after the finale. What do you think about this topic?
– Of course, I would be interested in seeing the continuation of these legendary stories. You should always understand why this is done.
— Your colleague in the series, Vladimir Selivanov, is successfully involved in music. Have you thought about trying yourself as a vocalist?
— I helped Vladimir write his works. Few people know, but his new track “We are going to the potato” was written with my direct participation. We sat on a potato nursery and achieved this success.
— You toured many cities in Russia with the play “The Great Scramble”. What did you learn about theater during this time?
— My attempts in the play called “Big Snatch” are just the tip of the iceberg called “theatre” and I am just an actor.
— In mid-September, you held the first semi-final of the First KVN League in Perm. What are your feelings from this experience?
— For me, the invitation to participate as a presenter is undoubtedly a great honor. The whole process was very difficult, tense, excited, shaking. I took this very seriously, and I showed it in the first match. The organization of the event in Perm with Channel One professionals was at the highest level. Editors, writers, producers and everyone involved in this event worked as one large, cohesive team. It was so nice to dive into all the fuss in a new way.
— How does modern KVN differ from the KVN you play?
– The only difference is age. Now I perceive the KVN world differently because I have become older, more experienced and more cynical. For me, KVN is the energy of youth. Young people still go crazy from the incredible energy of the room when they attend for the first time.
— Do you visit Perm often and how do you feel when you come home?
— I realized that the city of Perm had become more valuable and complete for me. Before, due to my living conditions, some places were not pleasant to me, I was even afraid of something. Now, after such a long time spent on Perm movie sets, each place has a different story for me. I enjoy every corner, smell and atmosphere of my hometown in Perm. And people; I love them so much. I express my deepest gratitude to them for “lifting us up” and trusting us.
— What are your favorite places in the city and region?
— I really like the cities of Berezniki, Cherdyn, Krasnovishersk, Nytva, Gubakha, Chernushka.
