On July 13, the SAG-AFTRA union went on strike because it could not agree on the terms of a new three-year contract with producers (an increase in wages and improved working conditions along with the development of streaming services).

After this, the studios had to suspend the production of many projects, including the third season of “White Lotus”, the fourth “Emily in Paris”, and “Blade Runner 2099”.

The Actors Guild has been supported by many Hollywood stars, including Leonardo DiCaprio, George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Nicole Kidman, Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Meryl Streep and Oprah Winfrey.
