ALICANTE MAIN THEATER
** ½
Direction: David Ottone Y Silvia Villau
Producing: Thomas Padilla Y Alvaro Mouriz
The hit musical is based on the 1997 award-winning British film of the same name.full moon, and it creates a new scene that debuts in October 2021. A group of unemployed people are planning to organize a striptease to make quick money. One of the workers of the closed factory may lose the right to see his son if he does not pay his wife the amount of family support. And that’s after spying on their wives at a girls’ night out with a male stripper (Rey Rojas). Jealous, unemployed and powerless, they make that daring decision that arouses prejudice and fear in them. Got it? Spectators participate in the preparation and selection process and events. They have to wait to find out. Terrence McNally’s libretto continues with a certain social component, and the catchy songs with music and lyrics by David Yazbek, as well as the choreography of Silvia Villaú, who is also responsible for the acting direction, fulfill their vital functions. He and David Ottone (of the Yllana gestural theater troupe) are the stage directors of a dynamic production that is often optimistic and takes more than two hours; this takes place at the Director in Alicante until next Sunday. The sequence of scenes has narrative clarity and seeks to deliver fun, spicy flavor and emotions. Not many people attended last Thursday, but they were gleefully engulfed and here, in addition to José Navar, Gustavo Rodríguez, Carlos Salgado, Piñaki Gómez, Marta Malon, Noelia, Sam Gómez and Falco Cabo interpreters collaborate with greater importance. Pardo or Marta Arteta are among the other members who create a show especially for fans of the genre. A production by Tomás Padilla and Álvaro Mouriz under the musical direction of César Belda. And musical numbers with various rhythmic and melodic themes. Some cartoonish images from T. Padilla, a versatile set design and intense lighting effects.
