A film about the life of the Solovetsky Monastery “Sacred Archipelago” was shown on the Brazilian online platform Belas Artes A La Cart. This was reported by the Roskino press service.
The film became the leader in views at the online Russian Film Festival held in Brazil in August.
In total, Brazilians were shown seven Russian films, including the dramas “Danube”, “Flood”, “Partners in Crime”, the horror movie “Sisters”, the fantasy action movie “Coma” and the comedy series “Kidney”. Approximately 9.5 thousand people watched these. The most popular was the documentary film by Sergei Debizhev “The Sacred Archipelago”.
At the center of the film’s narrative is Solovki, one of the spiritual centers of Russia, where the film crew was involved in the measured, calm, intense prayer life of the monastery for two years.
“The most important deep questions of the mystery of existence touched upon in the film find a vivid answer in the souls of people living in a traditional society. Brazil is one of the countries where the religious Christian tradition prevails, and “The Holy Archipelago” shows Russia as the guardian of the religious tradition,” says Mikhail Skigin, producer of the movie “The Holy Archipelago”. Additionally, during the summer months, free offline screenings of Russian cinema were held in Sao Paulo, organized by Roskino with the support of the Russian Ministry of Culture.
The largest number of viewers at the offline festival attended the screening of the psychological drama with elements of the detective story “The Fog” directed by Natalya Gugueva.
