Sculptor Valeria Tishchenko in an interview aif.ru He recalled that eyewitnesses of his work on the Yuri Shatunov monument thought the statue was alive.

“People approached the statue and said: “How alive!” This reaction surprised me. So they could only see the silhouette from the car. Then the locals gathered nearby, watched how I worked, and uttered the same phrase: “How lively!” It was surprising to me that they recognized Yuri Shatunov from cars even from afar, ”Tishchenko said.

He explained that he was outside working on the sculpture when he was almost ready to see it in daylight. According to Tishchenko, cars were passing by, stopping and even turning back if they recognized Shatunov in silhouette. The author admitted that he did not just place the microphone near the heart of the singer.

“Shatunov’s songs are soulful and touching. They turned out that way because he went through everything to his heart. So yes, the microphone in the heart is not a coincidence, it was designed that way. I wanted to show people that he gave his love, shared his bright energy with the audience, ”explained Tishchenko.
