Dmitry Glukhovsky, creator of the Metro post-apocalyptic book series (known in the Russian Federation as a foreign media agent), appealed his sentence, sentenced by a Moscow court to eight years in absentia in the case of discrediting the RF Armed Forces. This has been reported TASS.

On August 7, the Moscow Basmanny Court sentenced writer Dmitry Glukhovsky, who left Russia after the start of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine, to eight years in prison. He was also banned from managing websites on the Internet for four years. At the same time, the prosecution demanded that the writer be sentenced to nine years in prison.

The prison sentence will be calculated from the moment the person was detained on the territory of Russia or returned to his homeland.

According to the investigative materials, Glukhovsky posted edited videos on his social networks, in which military personnel of the RF Armed Forces allegedly deliberately opened fire on residential buildings and municipal buildings.

Glukhovsky is best known in Russia for the novels Metro 2033, Post and Text. At this time, the author was arrested abroad, in absentia, and placed on the international wanted list. According to the Office of the Attorney General, the accused did not need to participate in the criminal proceedings.
