Rocker Alice Cooper has offered to remake the tragicomedy “Battle of the Roses” with Hollywood Vampires bandmate actor Johnny Depp and Depp’s ex-wife Amber Heard in the lead roles. Cooper’s conversation with Vulture nail deadline.
According to Cooper, he did not pursue a friend’s high-profile divorce accompanied by the courts.
“It was so exaggerated that Hollywood. I knew Johnny would win, how many people sue their ex? This won’t happen. I just turned off the TV and said: I know Johnny will weather this storm and when he gets on stage, he will remain our guitarist,” Cooper said.
Cooper jokingly invited Depp and Heard to star in the 1989 remake of The War of the Roses.
“Who wouldn’t go to the movies for this? I will! It would be even better if they played their lawyers Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. All it takes is a really funny director and they will blow up the box office,” Cooper assured.
Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner starred in the original War of the Roses. At the center of the plot is a divorced couple who come to the point of absurdity in an attempt to destroy their jointly acquired property and each other.
Legal proceedings between ex-spouses ended in June 2022. Depp won the case, accusing his ex-wife of libel. The players’ court was widely covered in the media, and the sessions were broadcast live online, including on social networks. Many moments of this essay formed the basis of popular memes.
Mini-series “Depp Versus Heard” appeared On Netflix August 16, 2023.
