Actor Anatoly Vasiliev admitted in an interview aif.ruthat director Sergei Bondarchuk has “incredible charisma” and a “strong presence influence”.
According to Vasiliev, Bondarchuk’s energy was so strong that as soon as he entered a social event, all eyes turned to him. The artist said that all women began to look only at the director, although they had talked to others before.
“And Bondarchuk slowly – slapping with his friends, smoking a pipe – walked down the aisle. When he sees someone, he stops and starts talking. With his arrival, everything changed, he became the center! How is it explained? But it was. There was such a power in him,” the actress shared.
Vasilev noted that in Bondarchuk such qualities as dignity, respect and love for people prevail.
Sergei Bondarchuk began his career at the Film Actors Studio Theater in 1948. He made his directorial debut in 1959 with The Fate of a Man, based on a story by Mikhail Sholokhov. He directed War and Peace, which won the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film in 1965-1967.
