“If I die beforehand”: how did Tatyana Snezhina predict her death?

childhood and youth

The poet, composer and singer Tatyana Snezhina (real name Pechenkina) was born on May 14, 1972 in Lugansk. His father, Valery Pechenkin, was a military man, and his mother, Tatyana, was a technologist at a factory. When Snezhina was a few months old, the family moved to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The artist wrote about this in his autobiography:

“The gray volcanoes, the snow-capped peaks, the majestic expanse of the ocean. And new childhood impressions: long winter evenings, a howling blizzard outside the window, the crackling of birch logs on the stove and gentle maternal hands giving birth to unforgettable Chopin melodies.

From the age of three, the artist performed in front of his parents with songs and poems composed by himself. She moved to Moscow with her family in 1981. For Snezhina, this was the first conscious shock in her life, she.

“Loss of friends who left thousands of impenetrable kilometers behind in that harsh and beautiful land. And with night tears for first love about “worms and insects” at the beginning of the children’s stanzas of cheerful fun, “there, in a distant and harsh land”, began to come to replace it with sad and at the same time lyrical lines, ”the poem wrote.

In her work, Snezhina was inspired by the poems of Marina Tsvetaeva, Boris Pasternak and Heinrich Heine. At the same time, from childhood she dreamed of becoming a doctor and entered the 2nd Moscow Medical Institute, where she performed with her songs in front of a student audience.

“Student evenings with friends at the club piano became frequent, one of them quietly recorded my song and played it on a tape recorder, and the tapes began to scatter among acquaintances, friends, relatives,” said Snezhina. “This was my first, and therefore most expensive, edition, the first joy of creative satisfaction.”

A great shock for the artist was the death of singer Igor Talkov on October 6, 1991. He was killed in the Yubileiny Sports Palace in St. Petersburg under uncertain circumstances to the end.

“How much has not been written, how much has not been said. Why do people that Russia so needs leave early – Pushkin, Lermontov, Vysotsky, Talkov? The dreams were prophetic, heavy. Shock, psychic emptiness again. I could not walk, think, write, ”Snezhina admitted.

Another blow to the artist was the need to move to Novosibirsk. His friends and brother in Moscow asked him to record something new in his home studio and send them a tape. One of the recordings ended at the KiS-S studio in Taganka, and at the end of 1993 Snezhina received an offer of cooperation in Moscow.

music career

Work on the first music album “Remember me” Snezhina began in December 1993. He made his debut at the Variety Theater in April 1994 with the song “There Was a Time”. After deciding to try herself in show business, Snezhina took the pseudonym she. The singer appeared during the longing for loved ones after moving to Novosibirsk:

“And the songs began to be born, this time I can confidently say – exactly songs, sometimes two or three a night. And outside the window is still the same snow, maybe that’s why I’m Snezhina – snow, cold, emptiness.

In 1994, he recorded 21 songs. According to the artist, he and the creative team “worked for days, weeks without leaving the studio.”

“And the result is my first album of “Remember me” songs, 21 songs. But now I realize that these are songs that come out of my dialogues with myself, my soul, my tears and joys, my life, ”the author said.

After barely recording the first album, he planned to start work on the second. Over the years of creativity, Snezhina has accumulated about 200 songs that she wanted to present to the audience. The singer concluded his autobiography, written shortly before his death, with words about a dream, but did not reveal its essence:

“The important thing is to have a dream. Of course, you still have to work and study, learn a lot, overcome a lot, you cannot do without it, but as long as you have a dream in your soul, a light in the distance and friends on your shoulder, you are there. It can pass through fire and not burn, it can swim in the ocean and not drown.

In May 1995, music producer and head of M & L Art studio Sergei Bugaev proposed to Snezhina to marry her. The artist agreed – and on August 15, on the radio Europa Plus, the lovers announced their wedding, which was scheduled for September 13.

Apocalypse

At noon on August 18, 1995, Snezhina attended the presentation of her fiancé’s new production project. Instead of the expected pop songs, she suddenly had two romances – “My Star” and “If I Die Before My Time”:

“If I die early / Let the white swans carry me / To a far, far, unknown land, / High, high, bright sky.”

Those lines were the last words the people heard from his lips. That same evening, Bugaev rented a Nissan minibus and took Tatyana on a pre-wedding excursion to the Altai mountains. The candidate of science Shamil Fayzrakhmanov, the director of the Mastervet pharmacy Igor Golovin, his wife Irina and their five-year-old son Vlad went with the couple. Three days later, on the road to Novosibirsk, everyone in the car died in a car accident. According to one version, during overtaking, Bugaev did not notice the truck in the oncoming lane, since it was right-hand drive in a Japanese car. According to another rumor, the truck braked suddenly and its trailer entered the oncoming lane on a wet road.

The artist was buried in Novosibirsk at the Zaeltsovsky cemetery, but later his body was transferred to the Troekurovsky cemetery in Moscow.

Memory

Snezhina’s songs by Alla Pugacheva (“Call me with you”, “We are only guests in this life”), Joseph Kobzon (“Your letters”, “Me and you”, “Feast of lies”), Mikhail Shufutinsky (“How old are you” , “Your song for”)), Lolita Milyavskaya (“House on a high mountain”), Kristina Orbakaite (“Musician”), Tatyana Ovsienko (“Dream”), Lada Dance (“Be with me”, “ We are no longer”) ), Lev Leshchenko ( “There was a time”), Nikolai Trubach (“What is my life worth”), Alisa Mon (“Snowflake”) and others. The greatest fame for the artist was brought in 1997 with the composition “Call me with you”, which was covered by Pugacheva. In an interview with Seven Days in 1998, the artist spoke of his admiration for Snezhina’s work.

“I have a special, personal relationship with Tatiana Snezhina. I did not know him, we “met” after his death. Of course, if Tatyana had survived, she would have become a famous writer, songwriter and producer,” said Pugacheva.

“But it wouldn’t be ‘the saddest story in the world’ about modern Romeo and Juliet. Tatyana Snezhina for me is a symbol of all the talented people we pass without noticing, without looking. From the songs of Tatyana Snezhina there is an influx of positive energy. The song “Musician” became the main hit for Kristina Orbakaite, Alisa Mon perfectly performs “Snowflake”.

According to Primadonna, she immediately felt a mystical connection with the song “Call me with you.” The artist recorded it in a studio in Tver, and, returning to Moscow, for three hours in the car, together with the team, listened to the recording repeatedly, constantly.

“My performance is similar to Tanino, I do not argue. I had no desire to do everything the other way around, as happens when you take an old song and try to sing it in a new way involuntarily. But there is an element of mysticism in the story with the song “Call me with you,” Pugacheva said. I don’t know what happened when I got closer, but suddenly I felt that it wasn’t me singing. Someone is singing with my voice! Believe it or not. The same thing happened with Tanya’s second song “We’re just guests in this life.” I go into the microphone and again I feel – someone is nearby.

In other interviews, the artist said that Snezhina’s songs “restore the pride and essence necessary for a person on stage.”

In 1997, 1998 and 1999, Snezhina posthumously became the laureate of the All-Russian television music competition “Song of the Year”. In 1998, with the song “Call me with you”, Snezhina won two categories of the Ovation award – “Hit of the Year” and “Composer of the Year”. Presented in the category of “Composer of the Year”, People’s Artist of Russia Igor Krutoy solemnly denied the victory in favor of Snezhina.

The musical award was presented in honor of the summit of the Dzungarian Alatau mountain range, the literary prize of the Interregional Writers’ Union of Ukraine, the Novosibirsk television competition for young pop song artists “Ordynka” and a street artist in Novosibirsk. After the death of Snezhina, about 20 collections of his poems and prose were published.

The poet Tatyana Snezhina was born on May 14, 1972. Over the 23 years of her life, Alla Pugacheva wrote about 200 songs performed by Iosif Kobzon, Lolita Milyavskaya, Kristina Orbakaite, Lev Leshchenko and other stars she. “socialbites.ca” tells about the creative path and fate of the artist, who died in a car accident with his fiancee three weeks before the wedding.
