On its official YouTube channel, Netflix showed off a new trailer for the movie adaptation of the cult anime One Piece. The series is advertised as the broadcast platform’s most expensive project.
The plot tells about a young man named Monkey D Luffy who wants to become the king of pirates. He assembles a team of like-minded people and tries a magic fruit that gives him the ability to stretch his body. They have to fight other pirates and find the legendary treasure. The new trailer showed off Monkey D Luffy’s superpowers and his battles with other pirates with inhuman strength. In the video, the hero assembles a team of like-minded people from several members of the Straw Hat Pirates gang.
The One Piece anime appeared in 1999, since then more than 1000 episodes of the animated series have aired. The first season of the Netflix adaptation will consist of only 10 episodes. The movie starring Iñaki Godoy, Mackenyu, Taz Skyler, Emily Rudd will have its premiere on August 31.
