Charlie McKeesey, author of the Boy, Mole, Fox and Horse book series, shared a photo of a napkin he took in the bathroom during the Oscars ceremony (the owner of Meta is considered an extremist and is banned in Russia).
“Hello! Hiding in the closet at the Oscars again,” McKeesey signed the paper.
As the creator of the fairy tale admits, he thought he wouldn’t be able to go on stage because he was afraid of the cameras and the crowd in the award’s auditorium.
“Sometimes I don’t even want to look at the figurine. He just lays in my house wrapped in a t-shirt. I haven’t noticed it yet, and I think I will never notice it.” The creator of the Oscar-winning animation also confesses and conveys his words as follows: deadline.
The story “The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse” is based on McKeesey’s book of the same name. He talks about how animals helped a lost boy find his way home. Every frame of the 35-minute cartoon is hand-drawn – the author collaborated with 130 animators to create the final cut. Actors such as Idris Elba, Tom Hollander, Gabriel Byrne and Jude Coward Nicholl took part in the work.
In 2023, The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film.
