Alexander Nevsky suspends work on “The Last Heroes of Rio Bravo” due to strikes

Actor and producer Alexander Nevsky announced on Twitter that he has suspended filming for the final episode of his western trilogy, Rio Bravo’s Last Heroes. This was because the Actors Guild’s strike had begun.

“The shooting of my new cowboy movie will be delayed until autumn or winter,” Nevsky said.

He emphasized that for the last 15 years, he has been a member of the SAG-AFTRA union, on whose initiative the strike began.

“I am proud of the struggle of my colleagues and I support them,” the actor said.

On July 13, American union SAG-AFTRA went on strike after failing to agree with the producers on a new three-year contract – higher wages and better working conditions against the backdrop of the development of streaming services.

The plot is based on the fact that the hero Ivan Turchaninov (Alexander Nevsky) will have to face slave traders who kidnapped several women and children, along with his partner Sheriff Vernon Kelly, also played by director Joe Cornet.

The premiere of the first film, “Attack on Rio Bravo,” took place in Russia on March 31.
