Rick and Morty is getting an anime spin-off

Adult Swim commissioned an anime series based on the Rick and Morty series by director Takashi Sano (“Tower of God”). It was reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

The series will consist of 10 episodes. Previously, the director had shot several short anime based on the cartoon. The projects garnered over 10 million views on Adult Swim’s digital platforms. The release date hasn’t been announced yet.

The new anime is described as an independent original work. “The multiverse Rick and Morty adventure challenges family bonds. “I am honored to have the opportunity to tell a new story about this amazing family.”

About a year ago, it became known that a feature film based on Rick and Morty could be released. While the creators of the animation did not provide information about whether the image is in production or not. In 2019, Justin Roiland, co-creator of the animated series, said he wanted to shoot a feature film.
