Singer MakSim has been undergoing treatment for alcoholism in a “long-term” rehabilitation clinic. Marina Abrosimova herself announced the fight against addiction in a video posted on Instagram (its owner, Meta, was considered an extremist and banned in Russia).

According to him, he started the tour too early after suffering severe COVID-19 and thought that alcohol would give him strength.

“I came, I wasn’t just tired, I couldn’t stand on my feet anymore. I was dripping before going on stage and I decided that if I drank alcohol, I would work like a machine. It didn’t work, ”she said about the interrupted concert in Sochi.

According to MakSim, he regrets not only about the millions of dollars in fines due for breach of contracts, but for disappointing his colleagues and audience.

According to him, “the habit of getting rid of problems and ailments through alcohol” can only lead to great losses.

“I came to the conclusion that it was an addiction, understood, accepted and decided to take action. Therefore, I have been in the clinic for a long time, ”said the singer.

Abrosimova also said that her decision to voluntarily come to a rehabilitation center was a “big step” for her. She added that her daughters and teammates visited her at the clinic.

On March 18, the director of the singer, Pavel Nazarov, told RIA Novosti that the artist fell ill during a performance in Sochi. Yana Bogushevskaya, director of public relations at MakSim, said that in the afternoon – before the concert – Abrosimova’s blood pressure rose, she felt dizzy and very uncomfortable. He explained this with a “heavy schedule” – MakSim sang in Krasnodar on March 14 before the performance in Sochi.

During a performance in Sochi, MakSim performed only a few songs, and then left the stage without explanation. According to the organizers, he needed the help of doctors.

The audience told about their impressions of the scandalous concert in a conversation with socialbites.ca. Sergei, a Sochi resident, said MakSim was “in a strange situation”. According to her, the artist “did not specially knit a bastard, he quietly turned away, and the whole team left the stage behind him,” in the fifth song. He added that people waited in the silence of the hall for about thirty minutes, but no one explained anything to them.

“It would be better if she stayed in my memory as that beautiful-voiced, radiant girl and not this one. If a person really feels bad, then why should he be allowed to go on stage, it is easier to cancel the concert and not tarnish his dignity, ”added Sergey.

In June 2021, MakSim suffered a severe form of COVID-19, the singer fell into an artificial coma for several weeks and was hooked up to a ventilator.

On July 4, 2023, Abrosimova announced that after complications from the coronavirus, her body could no longer withstand heavy loads, so she was now focused on “working on her physical and emotional feelings.”

MakSim added that he plans to return to the stage in October this year.
