Fans of director Christopher Nolan, who tried to avoid erotic scenes in his films, criticized the sex scene in his new movie Oppenheimer in advance. On the reaction of potential viewers to the subject of the picture drew attention Edition of the New York Post.
After a “long, fully nude scene” was announced by lead actress Cillian Murphy and actress Florence Pugh, audiences thought it would look ridiculous.
“I’m afraid Christopher Nolan doesn’t know what sex is, and naked actors will stand with their thumbs on each other’s foreheads,” one social media user wrote.
“Because he knows Nolan, he’ll add a pinch of hugs, a handful of moans, and that’s it,” writes another.
Oppenheimer is a biography about Robert Oppenheimer (Cillian Murphy), an American physicist and creator of the atomic bomb. The film also stars Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh, Gary Oldman, Rami Malek, Kenneth Branagh and Josh Hartnett. The movie is scheduled to be released on July 21, 2023.
