– Did you read Ollie Winget’s “Where the Wormwood Blooms” before starring in the movie adaptation?
“Unfortunately, I didn’t manage to read the book before shooting the movie. But as I was told, the script is very close to the plot of the book.
How would you describe your character?
– My character is faced with many challenges, he constantly has to decide which side to stand on – good or bad. It is interesting to play such a character and, of course, I immediately agreed.
The shooting of the series took place two years ago. During this time you managed to take part in many projects – do you feel like you have grown professionally? If so, how does this growth manifest itself?
Two years is a short time for an acting career. You shoot on several projects at once, but these projects only come out in 3-5 years or more, so your growth depends on work and experience with different directors and teams, not on deadlines.
– Are you always happy with your play – or sometimes, as you review the scenes, it feels like something could have been done differently? Would you like to see yourself on the screen?
– I couldn’t get used to myself on the screen for a long time, I had and still have complaints about myself, but this is in the nature of all actors. Now I force myself to review my work, which teaches me not to be self-critical.
Is it hard to play a teenager? Do you remember yourself at that age to fit in with this energy – or do you “fit” into the role in some other way?
– Playing a teenager like any person is not easy, but it depends on the character, not the age. Of course, I transfer my experience to acting, but if my character was just my experiences, it would be boring, so I use people’s observations.
– Does the series target young people in general? What issues does it draw attention to?
“I think it’s aimed at all age groups because all the characters, with the exception of youth issues, tackle a lot of exciting topics. Almost every character has to sacrifice something for the sake of the family. And family is the most important thing in life.
– The series was made in the “kinostoris” format, that is, it consists of 6 episodes of 15 minutes each. What are the pros and cons of this format?
– The obvious advantages of this format are, of course, that anyone, even those who have no time at all, can watch it. A person for whom a long series or movie looks posh. But there is also a minus: you just “connect” with the development of the plot and immerse yourself in the characters as the series ends.
– Given the pace of modern life, is it possible to predict that the future belongs to short-episode series and that many people will not have enough time and patience for feature films?
– I hope not.
– You usually act in mystical movies. Do you like horror movies in your spare time?
– Actually, I myself do not like books or horror movies at all, there is enough fear in our reality.
– The passion for horror is sometimes not welcome in society – for example, recently the English teacher and teacher Anna Elkova was expelled from kindergarten for publishing a horror story. Do you think horror movies can really affect the soul negatively?
– I think that the hobby of horror can not affect the soul in any way if it is healthy.
– You appeared in the reality show “Heirs and Impostors”, “Challenge” and “Fear Factor: Test of the Taiga”. What attracts you to such projects?
– Attending these shows definitely hardens me. All of them were difficult, some from psychological tasks, some from physical tasks.
– In addition to your manager in the Russian market, you have an agent that represents you abroad. Tell me, have you participated in auditions and shootings in foreign projects, do you plan to work abroad in the future?
– Yes that is right. I attended several auditions and even got a special offer from the USA, the shooting was planned in Eastern Europe. But the project is frozen due to conditions around the world.
– After The Bride is published, you have a lot of foreign fans commenting on the photos on your social networks. What do they write personally, as a rule? Were they invited to visit?
– Yes, almost everyone is invited to visit. Basically they write that I am beautiful.
Do they recognize you on the street?
– I can’t say that the fans are chasing after me in droves. But those who know are asked to take pictures, and I do it with pleasure. Pleased to meet you
Do you have a dream role?
— I don’t have a specific dream role, I like different directors I want to work with. For example, Stas Ivanov (series “UZZZ”) or Nigina Sayfulaeva (film “Fidelity”).
Are you being compared to other celebrities? What do you think of such comparisons?
– They don’t constantly compare it to someone specific, but I’d appreciate it only if it’s someone cool and talented.
– And finally, let’s return to the series “Where the wormwood blooms.” Your hero has the ability to predict death. Have you ever wondered what kind of gift you really want to have?
– I already have all the gifts I can have.
