On Sunday, the monument to People’s Artist of the RSFSR Zinaida Kiriyenko was unveiled at the Troekurovsky cemetery. According to this TASS Citing a source in the Russian Union of Cinematographers, July 9 commemorates the 90th anniversary of the birth of the actress.
Kiriyenko’s sons Maxim and Timur, their relatives and colleagues – Alexander Pankratov-Cherny, Svetlana Toma, Timofei Fedorov and others were present at the opening of the monument.
Zinaida Kirienko died on February 12, 2022, at the age of 88. Before her death, she was in the intensive care unit after suffering from a coronavirus and a stroke. In addition, the actress also battled pancreatic cancer. The funeral took place at the Troekurovsky cemetery, after the farewell ceremony in the Great Hall of the Cinema House. Kiriyenko’s sons, grandchildren and colleagues Lyudmila Zaitseva, Aristarkh Livanov and Nikolai Burlyaev came to say goodbye to Kiriyenko.
The actress is known to the audience for the films “The Fate of a Man” by Sergei Bondarchuk, “Quiet Flows the Don” by Sergei Gerasimov, “Earthly Love” by Evgeny Matveev, “Two Captains” by Evgeny Karelov. A week before his death, the actor was elected as the new Secretary of the Cinematographers Guild as the representative of the Council of Elders.
