Elche International Independent Film Festival (FICIE)Organized by the Mediterranean Foundation, kicks off on Tuesday 11 July It is the 46th time with the official feature film section, which will screen the first films of five Spanish directors and talk after the film. The feature films will be screened in Odeón cinemas from 11 to 18 July.the screenings of the official short film section will be held at Hort del Xocolater for seven consecutive days from 14 to 20 July.

The first screening of this edition of the festival, “Quan doesn’t finish the night” by Óscar Montón, on July 11 at 19:00 in Odeón Cinemas. Other films selected, in order of screening, are as follows: “Kepler Sexto B” by Alejandro Suárez Lozano (07/12), “Killing Crabs” by Omar A. Razzak (07/13), “Last Testaments” by Joaquín Carmona Hidalgo (07/18) and “Unknown” by Pablo Maqueda (07/18).
The movie “Quan no wonder la nit” is the first feature film directed by Valencian Óscar Montón and revolves around the social phenomenon. Bakalao Route. Set in ’90s Valencia, the four friends experience the full impact of the “Valencian scene” known as the “Bakalao Route”. Children who are only 18 years old and have no clear long-term goals spend their days waiting for the weekend to come to the party in search of endless fun as a way to escape their daily problems.
Óscar Montón graduated with a Bachelor of Audiovisual Communications and has nearly 20 years of experience as a filmmaker and television equipment operator. He has extensive experience as a producer, director and director of different programs and documentaries.
For the 46th Elche Film Festival 62 feature films participated in the competition.The jury selected five films to be screened at the festival.
