According to Variety, Antonio Banderas and Olivia Colman could star in the third movie in the Paddington franchise.
The film’s cast may also include West Side Story and upcoming Snow White star Rachel Zegler and Match Point’s Emily Mortimer.
The third installment in the family movie franchise will be called Paddington in Peru. Filming will begin in July and will take place in the UK, Peru and Colombia.
According to the plot, Paddington will be returning to his hometown in Peru from London to visit his beloved aunt Lucy, who lives in the Retirement Bear House. Paddington and the Brown family embark on an unexpected journey through the Amazon rainforest to the mountain peaks of Peru.
Olivia Colman will play the jovial nun who runs a nursing home for bears. Antonio Banderas will play Hunter Cabot, a dashing and fearless riverboat captain who offers to help the Brown family in their Peruvian adventure. And Zegler will be Cabot’s on-screen daughter.
Paddington’s Adventures is one of the most successful film series in the world. With an average budget of $50 million, the first film grossed $282.3 million worldwide, while the second episode grossed $227.9 million.
