Director Park Chung-wook will write and produce the historical drama “War and Rebellion” for the Netflix streaming service. These release reports Variation.
The plot of the film tells about two childhood friends who have become irreconcilable rivals. Park Jung-min (“Decision to Quit”) and Kang Dong-won (“Train to Busan 2: Peninsula”) will star, with Kim Sang-man directing. The project is produced by Moho Films, which produced Park Chung-wook’s films such as Decision to Quit and The Handmaid.
Previously Streaming service Max has released a trailer for The Sympathizer, a mini-spy series directed by South Korean director Park Chan Wook and based on the novel of the same name by Vietnamese-American writer Viet Thanh Nguyen. In the series, actor Hoa Xuande plays a North Vietnamese spy who infiltrates a refugee community in 1970s Los Angeles.
