Actress Irina Alferova in an interview teleprogramming talked about the unique quality of her deceased husband, Alexander Abdulov.
“It really took up the whole room. An interesting quality of acting. He gave his energy even when Abdulov was not on stage. And it got you! I have never seen such actors. Only Abdulov had such a quality, ”recalled Alferova.
The actor admitted that he wanted to play in the Lenkom Theater just after being inspired by Abdulov’s play. Alferova then tried to act in the play “The Star and Death of Joaquin Murieta”, the theater’s general director, Mark Zakharov, approved her for the role of a Chilean woman who, according to the plot, had to dance. In a cabaret, however, Alferova fell on the stage and had to improvise.
“I got on stage, then I turned and fell, then it was a huge failure. <…> I realize mentally that I’ve already been fired, and then the thought comes to mind that you could get down on your knees in a cabaret. Then I crawl a certain distance, I can’t get up again. Then I crawl behind the scenes, ”said Alferova.
From 1976 to 1993, the actress was married to Alexander Abdulov. They met while working at the Lenkom Theater. After the wedding, Abdulov adopted Alferova’s child from a past relationship. The stars broke up due to the betrayals of Alexander Abdulov.
