Commission of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine completed the work on the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, reports DEA News.

The reserve compelled the canonical UOC monks living here to leave the monastery within three days.

The situation around the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra escalated after the Ukrainian Ministry of Culture informed the canonical UOC that it had unilaterally terminated the monastery’s lease, with the monks being asked to leave the Lavra on 29 March. Culture Minister Oleksandr Tkachenko said the monks can stay in the Lavra provided they are transferred to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
